At the last lan I was at, some of the guys were using Xbox controller hooked up to their PCs. I read about this a year ago or so, but I didn’t know it worked so well. All the buttons work and even force feedback. What I did to get this working was splice an Xbox controller and a USB cable. Matched all the colored wires (but the yellow on the controller) and hooked the USB cable shield up to the two black wires. Works with out problem, as long as you have the drivers. My buddy Justin had an old fat Xbox controller laying around so I grabbed it. Makes so much of a different in games when you have to drive. I am thinking about setting it up for Battle Field 2 so I can use it to drive around in there. You can grab the driver here **Please note I do not take any reasonability for moded controllers or drivers

LAN - Jaguar Lan Fest
Jaguar Lan FestWas almost the same as last time, but I went by myself. Was a little boring this time because I beat everyone in every game we played every single round. They played a demo at the last lan called Trackmania Sunrise. Jag had 2 for sell this time so I picked one up for $32.00 and oh man is it worth it. Its been a while since I have had a good sim game. I didn’t win any prizes but I did win some respect this time.

Geforce Lan 2.0
Geforce Lan 2.0 Was a blast. Near 400 gamers in San Francisco. The event was held by PDX, a sub company from Nvidia. The building was right on the water front on a pier next to the Golden Gate Bridge.
Lots of things to talk about but only so much room. So I started all the lan by not getting a wink of sleep. I planned on trying to get to bed around 10pm and leaving at 3am. I didn’t sleep at all. I left Chico around 3:30am with a gamer friend "Tendon" I bought 3 bawls with me and headed out for a 4 hour car drive. About an hour from the event we picked up my little brother. So we get there at 6:45. Pre-registration was at 7:00, but the line didn’t start moving until 7:30. We met up with the Jaguar lan guys and sat near them. As was walked in the door we each got a free copy of Battlefield 2 (CD version) Not bad for only paying $25.00 to get in.
The 1st game in the tournament was Carbomb a unreal04 mod. I have never herad of this game let alone played it. Game sucked, and the maps we played sucked even more. We beat the 1st team only because it was 5vs3 =P 2nd team we played was the PDX guys that hosted this event and picked this game. We didn’t do that bad we only lost by 1 point, they ended up winning the tournament.
They gave us all you can eat roundtable pizza (crappy pizza) so we dug in. I grabbed 4 more bottles of bawls as was wired for the night. Also sodas, candy, and some other crab stuff that was being served.
For the Battlefield 2 tournament it was random order and teams of 30. The let us know what team we are on just as someone says, Team 1 and Team 8 are starting off in server 2 in 2 minutes. Well 1st map was Dragon Valley, It’s a very poorly balance map. We were on the USMC side and beat them 105 to 63. 2nd go around was the same map, but we switch sides. So they beat us 107 to 40. If you add those up together we had 145 tickets. They had 170. I have a screenshot so you can see. We should have lost but fro some reason they let us move on after a debate. So 2nd map was FuShe Pass. This was a better map and I had a lot of fun. I got dropped part way into the game and had to re join. We lost to team 4. and Team 4 ended up winning the tournament.
This was Nvidia’s official release of the 7800 GTX card. They had a room just for them as you can see in my pics. They showed us a demo of the card. Gave us some finger food and then opened another room with machines we could play on. One of the was unreal 07 so I jumped on there and started playing on the 7800 GTX. Game looked great for only being a 7 week build. They gave away a lot of prizes, but I only ended up walking away with a hat, shirt, Battlefield 2, a LED ball, poster, Lan was fun and I plan on going to the next one
You can grab it Here
I am sure this is going to be game of the year, and most people are going to jump on this game right on the start.

LAN- IGO
Internatioin Gamers Outreach Danny and I headed out to this LAN not sure how it was going to be considering there were only like 20 people on the list. It was in Yuba City. We left after work and got to the LAN and found us in another Church. Now I have never thought LAN parties and Churches would go together, but that was their point. Two Pastors from two different Churches and putting this LAN together as a way to reach out to the gaming crowd. I respect what they are doing cause I do know how what the crowd is like in the gaming world. LAN was FUN, we played Americas Army, RTCW: Enemy Territory and a few others. Danny and I happened to be the oldest ones in there.
So the night went on and Danny and I won each and every single game we played there. At one point the pastor said to us, If we give you 2 boxes of Bawls will you stay out of the running for the rest of the night? I ended up with 12 pack of Bawls, Hat, 2 shirts, a bunch of Energy Mints, and a few other things. The one thing that I wanted they didn’t give away cause they were down gaming. It was a Grip Gear caring case. I have no idea if they just kept it for them selves or what, but as we kept winning games they started giving us the crappie prizes =P

LAN- Local Area Nerds 2.0
LocalAreaNerds My best bud Justin had me meet him at the Bear (a local bar in Chico). After a while of drinking and talking, I get to talking to a girl who says her EX was really into computer games, I grinned and asked a few question and it turns out there is a LAN that goes on in Chico State with the computer group ACM. I did a goggle search and found the ACM website after we few days of talking to them I had a meeting with the ACM LAN leader. We thought we were a perfect match for each other. Local Area Nerds needed a building, they needed help, origination, equipment and players. Things worked out great. We have 52 signs up on the website and 45 people show up. It was a free LAN. We held it on Chico states campus and had a blast until 3:00am Friday morning. We have some more work to do as we are just starting out but are going to have to wait until next school semester because ACM is not active over summer.

New Hard Drive
Got another Western Digital drive. This one is a SATA 250GB model number WD2500JD. I ran out of space due to the last LAN I went to. So I got the biggest WD SATA I could find. Moved all my media over to this new drive. Put all my files on my WD 160GB, and my WD 80GB is not for my downloads. All these drives are on my server for file sharing. I now have .632 Terabytes in just my WD drives. 718 Terabytes total. I would say 70% of that is filled =X

LAN - Jaguar Lan Fest
JaguarLanFest Another great Lan. Was a little different from the LANs I normally go to but man was it an experience. Danny drove us down to Roseville near Sac. There was around 20 guys, none of them I knew. They played a little different type of games we were accustom to. Hard to sum up this weekend but if you dare, try reading the full review of the weekend.

LCD replacement
Got my DELL 2005FPW replacement today. My old one had some trouble powering up the Liquid Crystals. Sometimes it would turn on just fine. But if I turned off the monitor at all after using it I would have to wait like half an hour to get that dam thing back on. This problem occurred while I was at my last LAN. Sucked to have it go out then. They took their time shipping it to me, but its here. Only one Dead Pixel on this one and its only on the Black.

Comcast Cable Cancelled
Due do the fact that I live in the heart of the 2nd largest party college in the nation I have lots of dumb people living around here. After living at my new apartment for 2 months I have to give up on the cable internet. Some of the Comcast Techs were straight with me and told me that someone on my Node is share his connection to his whole Frat or Apartment complex. In Result I am ending up with unplayable pings like 350+, my ping times to websites like goggle were anywhere from 18ms-8000ms. Never had a problem with Comcast in my last two areas here in Chico, but I guess this node sucks
I asked my hawt roomy Chloe if we could share her DSL and she was more then happy to. Its just 1.5megs and my speeds are 1243/312 kbps down from 3004/231 kbps on my cable. I really need a new router, on an old 4 year Linksys. Any Recommendations?

New Hard Drive
Just got a Western Digital Raptor 74GB 10,000RPM SATA Hard Drive, Model WD740GD, to replace my old 36gig Raptor that died. It is under warranty waiting for a replacement from Western Digital and will stick it in my server. I needed some more room on my C drive so this was a good excuse.

LAN - Local Area Nerds
LocalAreaNerds was interesting. Been a while from my last LAN and I sure do miss them. My buddy Alex is the one hosting these events. He brings the equipment and the money, I bring the knowledge due to the fact I have been to at least 20 lans + help host a bi-coastal 800 player lan. I am trying to help Alex is anyway I can because I would love to see a LAN happen every month. We only had 10 people show up to this one. There was around 20+ people that said they were going and flaked at the end.
All-n-all it was a blast. A little frustration because I tried my best to get people to show up and we could only get 10 players up to Red Bluff. Drove up with my Boss Jacob and Drove back with my co-worker Danny. Great guys and they made the LAN worth while. LAN will be moving into Chico in the next 3 months so we all look forward to that.

New Montior
As of 10:53am my first LCD awaits me at home. Its the Dell 2005FPW
20.1" viewable, Contrast Ratio: 600:1 and Max Sync Rate (V x H): 75 Hz x 83 kHz. This is a much needed upgrade do that I wish to keep my eye sight in my later years.
I spend 12-14 hours a day staring at a screen so I thought this would be a good investment. Resales for $749.00 got mine for 486.75 Thanks to the power of the internet =)
Nice little Upgrade from my last monitor, a Envision EN910e 19" 18.0viewable, .21mm, 1600 x 1200, 85Hz that I got for free.
My sister dumped water in my Old Pixi 19" and it was under Warranty under this new company so they shipped me out this nice replace me in 1999. I paid $175 for my pixie.
